When Kristina told us that she had decided to do her and Daniel’s engagement session at the UC Davis Arboretum we were so excited! It’s been one of our favorite (and most requested) places to shoot recently. We had so much fun with these two we’ve been itching to share this post since we left the Arboretum parking lot!

We learned a valuable lesson during their engagement shoot. Always make sure your ring is properly sized! We had only be about 5 or 10 minutes into their session before Kristina gasped. As she was standing up her ring slipped right off her finger into the dirt! We spent a good 45 minutes or more looking all over the ground for it! Luckily we did eventually find it, hiding in some weeds! Thank goodness!

It was a little terrifying at the time to think she might have lost her ring, but hopefully it’ll be a funny story to one day tell their little ones. The extra hour that we spent looking for the ring actually worked in our favor! The sunset was so gorgeous and it really brought out all the amazingness of the arboretum. It also got out all of their nervousness and made the rest of their session a breeze.
