This past Sunday (October 21st, 2012) Sacramento held it’s annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk Sacramento. In the beginning of October one of their people contacted us and asked if we’d make an in-kind donation by taking pictures for the event. Well obviously we said yes! It’s such a good feeling to use our skills and talent to help out such a great organization.
They started the walk off the right way! Doing a little Zumba warm up before walking. Doing a little stretching and some grooving was the perfect way to get warmed up for long walk ahead. Then of course it was time for the National Anthem. Then after the ribbon cutting people were free to participate in the walk and enjoy the various entertainment they had performing on the main stage. One of our favorite parts were everyone’s creative (and mostly hilarious) signs. To learn more about the walk, visit their website here:
After the walk started, they had plenty of events at the main stage. There was an amazing drum and dance performance. I think the best part was when members of the kappa sigma fraternity had people shave their heads in support of breast cancer. The all ended up with ridiculous new hairdos but they took it like champs! It was amazing to see a lot of returning teams and plenty of new faces.

It’s always so amazing to photograph these events. The stories of strength, hope, and survival are all so uplifting. We can’t wait to continue being a part of this great event for many, many years to come!
