“What’s up troublemaker?” That was the line 23 years ago that Happy used to get Rosemarie’s attention. At 17 years old, she had no idea he was trying to flirt with her and thought he was being rude. To make it up to her, he bought all the candy she was selling to help pay for her senior trip. Now 18 years of marriage and 3 children later, they decided to renew their vows.
But there’s more to their story. In 2015, Rosemarie was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the beginning of last year, doctors had discovered that cancer had spread. We’re so incredibly sad to say that Rose passed away yesterday morning. While it breaks our hearts, we can think of no better way to celebrate her life and the amazing legacy she has left behind than to share her and Happy’s love story.
Rose was such an incredible soul! The first time we met her was for a family portrait session just before their vow renewal. She was nothing but smiles and even cracked some jokes with us. Her positive energy was truly infectious.
On the day of the vow renewal, there was a tiny bit of a hiccup. Rose had been in the emergency room in the early morning hours. But she was so determined to have a good time she refused to let it put a damper on her day.
Even having only met her for a short time, it was so obvious what a beautiful soul Rose was. We’re so grateful to have met her and her entire family.
