Country Inspired Farmhouse Wedding by Adrienne and Dani Photography

During our trip to Virginia, we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to participate in a large scale styled shoot! The shoot featured 4 different “weddings” each with its own themes, color palettes, and style. We participated in 3 out of the 4 and one of our favorites was called “Country Traditional.”

Even though it had traditional in its name, this wedding was anything but ordinary. From the bride’s velvet topped dress to the puppies in the place of bouquets, it was a great example of how to blend tradition with modern trends and still be true to you.

From the styled shoot coordinator K Layne Styled:

“Give this bride a reason to have #allthethings and she’ll do it! She loves a good reason to bring all of her friends and family together and her wedding is no exception! When it comes to best friends she has a lot of them so narrowing it down for bridesmaids was difficult! She wants all of her bridesmaid to feel confident so she focuses on the color scheme and allows them to choose their own dresses. The only rule is that they have to be long. This bride loves her family and they have deep-rooted traditions and recipes in the kitchen. That’s why, along with a wedding cake, she wants her grandmother to make her specialty pies. These pies will be the inspiration for the color scheme.

At the reception, she wants everyone to mingle and feel like one big happy family. That’s why long farm-style tables are a must! Something simple down the middle of the table is all she’d like to have because she wants the food served family-style.

The couple volunteer at a local animal shelter and have grown to love all of the animals that are up for adoption. In an effort to serve the shelter, they’d like to incorporate the animals into their wedding day and in lieu of gifts they’ve asked their guests to donate to the shelter.”

As you probably know, we’re huge animal lovers here, especially when it comes to puppies! We were almost too distracted to shoot! We could’ve stayed there all day and just photographed the little ones and that would’ve been just fine for us!

One of the things we really loved about this shoot was that all of the “models” were real couples! Sometimes for styled shoots, the “couple” is comprised of two models who are meeting for the first time the day of. It was so great to be able to photograph a real couple who are really in love.
