They say that music is a universal language. When Ashlee and William first met, they started talking about music and their favorite bands. Even though she had some pretty obscure favorites, William knew about the bands she loved! After emailing each other their favorite songs from random, odd genres they developed a relationship. Now they’re inseparable! Ashlee had told us that she loves William’s quick wit and cheesy jokes and you can tell! For their anniversary this year, William had planned to propose by reenacting their first date. However, he could tell Ashlee may have suspected that he was up to something, and so he completely surprised her and switched up the plan, proposing on a random Thursday! Ashlee teased that he only proposed because she laughs at all his cheesy jokes.
We just have to share the story of the necklace Ashlee wore for her wedding day! Right before putting it on, her mother had told us that around 30 years ago, Ashlee’s father had given that necklace to her mother. Now Ashlee has it to wear for her wedding day. How adorable is that?! We absolutely loved all of her details (especially her shoes!) but her necklace has to be our favorite just for that sentimental reason.
When we first met with Ashlee and William, Ashlee had mentioned to us that they really loved the idea of having some of their photos done in front of some kind of fun mural! It’s a good thing their wedding was downtown! There are so many great murals to choose from! We did a little research and found the perfect one! Not only was it just fun and cute, but it matched their wedding colors and was only a 5-minute walk from their venue! She loved the idea and we’re so glad that she trusted us and our crazy idea! It was so perfect we couldn’t help but do their first look, bride & groom portraits, and bridal party portraits in front of it!
Their first look had to be our favorite part of the day! We showed up at the mural and Ashlee’s excitement was palpable! Her smile and laughter were truly infectious! The moment that William turned around and saw his beautiful bride, she instantly burst into happy tears and ran to give him lots of love! You know it’s good when the groom’s jacket get makeup all over it! Throughout their portraits, neither of them or their bridal party could stop smiling and laughing!
They both are big breakfast lovers, so they had a brunch wedding, complete with a delicious waffle bar! It was so obvious to see that this amazing couple is so loved by all of their family and friends. We’re pretty sure all their guest’s faces are going to be sore for days because they were all so happy and smiling so big the entire day!
