2020 presented newly engaged couples with quite an array of challenges when it came to their wedding planning. With more and more couples opting for a micro wedding, there’s no better place to find inspiration than in your own backyard.
When Sara from Rainbow Weddings and Events was designing this intimate micro wedding, she was inspired by the bold, gorgeous golds, perfect pinks, and elegant emeralds of her mother’s garden. To bring the designs to life, Gina of Inspirations by Gina took some of the florals from the garden and worked them into everything from the bouquet and the reception decor to the cake and even going the extra mile and making a custom wooden and floral bow tie. Not wanting to forget the classic elements for a modern affair, the table settings by Francis Lane featured authentic vintage depression glass and floral adorned china which made the stunning champagne cake by Sweet Romeo’s taste all the more delicious.
Whimsical Vintage Garden Micro Wedding Inspiration
One of the biggest sources of inspiration though was the rustic wooden elements of the handmade greenhouse. Sara’s mother had always wanted a greenhouse and when a neighbor offered her one that they were no longer using, of course, she said yes. Sara’s father took the greenhouse down piece by piece and brought it to their garden where he built it back up again all by hand, even crafting tables for the inside as a gift for his wife.
The garden and the greenhouse are products of the love and joy her parents have for each other and for the home they have built together. It’s the place where so many family gatherings have been held and wonderful memories made. What could be a better place to continue the family legacy and celebrate love when it’s needed the most.
