It’s hard to believe that we’re almost done with this series! But it’s been such a blast to take a look back at all that we’ve learned, all the incredible couples and families we’ve served, and just how much our business has grown over the years. 2019 was another big year for us. After almost a year and a half of work behind the scenes, we launched our rebrand and we’d finally become Adrienne and Dani Photography! Then late in the year, we’d finally leave our old corporate jobs to do photography full time! It was both exciting and terrifying! But we can’t wait to talk about all the great weddings we photographed in 2019!
Nomieya & Yao
Just a few days after the start of the year, we’d head off to one of our fave venues, The Sequoia Mansion for Nomieya & Yao’s wedding! We always hope that winter weddings will play nice and have great weather, but it seems that any wedding in January is doomed to be rainy! But these two weren’t going to let a little rain (and a lot of wind) put a damper on their day! Nomieya, Yao, and their entire bridal party were so determined to have a great time! They were such troopers dealing with the weather, braving a day with a high of only 48 degrees!
Brittany & Jon Maternity
So we may be cheating, since it’s technically a portrait session. But we absolutely love when our past couples want us to capture even more important events in their lives! Our past A&D Couple Brittany and Jon were having their first baby and they asked if we’d shoot some maternity portraits for them. Of course we were so honored to capture another great season of life for them! When Brittany said she wanted to do their session in the snow, we were totally on board but then came the hard part, getting the weather to cooperate! After a couple of reschedulings, we made it up to the snow just in between some major winter storms and road closures! But it was so worth it!!!
Jackie & Issac
We love these two! Even though it rained for their wedding, they weren’t going to let it bring them down! During the day we actually found out the pastor who officiated their ceremony was also the pastor who officiated Isaac’s parent’s wedding. Isn’t that amazing?! One of our favorite parts of the day was when Jackie’s father took the mic for his speech during the reception. He told all about how proud her parents are of their daughter and how happy they are that she found such a great man and partner to call her husband.
Annie & Andrew
Talk about a picture-perfect wedding! Annie & Andrew had their wedding at another favorite venue of ours, The Sterling Hotel in Downtown Sacramento. They were so happy to be getting married! We remember at the end of the day, as they were getting into their car during their grand exit, Andrew popped out of the window and yelled “I”M A MARRIED MAN, WOO!!!”. Another of our favorite parts of the day was during their first look, the pair’s dog, who also happened to be their ring bearer, just couldn’t stay away and had to come love on mommy and daddy.
Simone & Shawn
We’d return to the Sequoia Mansion for a second time this year for Simone & Shawn’s wedding! From the moment we walked in, we felt like a part of the family! Their whole wedding party and their family were so welcoming and you could really tell just how excited they were for Simone and Shawn. Shawn’s sister was just too cute, starting to cry when she saw his brother’s wedding ring for the first time. You can tell family is important to these two. We’re so excited for them both because it won’t be long now before they’re welcoming their first child!
Meagan & Greg
This wedding was a dream come true! Not only was it at one of our dream venues, the Vizcaya Sacramento, but the fall colors and golden fall light made it so dreamy! Since we first started talking about their wedding day, they’ve been telling us how after their ceremony, they would be having a 2nd Line, but nothing could have prepared us for just how much fun it was going to be. A 2nd line is a New Orleans wedding tradition where the couple leads a mini-parade celebrating them and their new life together. Meagan and Greg took a fun tradition and put their own unique spin on it!
Mckell & Matt
Mckell & Matt’s wedding was just absolute perfection! During their ceremony, they had a special officiant! It was their friend (and McKell’s ex-boss!) who had originally set them up together! We had such a blast hanging out with their closest friends and family all day. They all made us feel like a part of the family. From a little family history lesson from some aunts & uncles to laughing it up with their bridal party, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! Plus we’re so incredibly happy for these two, they announced their expecting their first baby as well!
