Whenever we look back at our photography journey, we think of 2013 as the year our business really took off. While we did only photograph one wedding, we had so many incredible couples book with us for the next year and we were swamped with engagement sessions. We didn’t mind one bit. Let us introduce Titania and Greg, whose wedding was a Sacramento backyard micro wedding before COVID was a thing!

These two were such troopers! When we met them for their engagement session in Old Sacramento, it was the hottest day of the year! No joke, it was well over 100 degrees. By the end of it, we were so hot but they didn’t even seem bothered. They were so happy to be getting married that a little heat couldn’t keep their spirits down.
It’s a good thing too because their wedding day was even hotter! We still have no idea how Greg survived in his suit! Their wedding day was a gorgeous DIY affair that they hosted in their own backyard! Our favorite moment of their day had to be during their ceremony, they released butterflies, and one butterfly landed on Greg’s shoulder and just stayed there for most of the ceremony. It was such an honor to be a part of their day.
Three years after their wedding, we’d get a nice surprise email from Greg. He said
“I just wanted to thank you for the pictures, I can look back at our day and enjoy the memories with these wonderful photos.”
I think I speak for both Dani and myself when I say we teared up a bit. Preserving memories for our clients, where they can look back at their wedding days, even years down the line, and feel such joy is why we do this and why we decided to specialize in weddings. To know that we achieved that is one of the greatest gifts our couples can give us.
